I have chosen to go without soy and dairy for a few weeks.  The key word there is chosen.  Yes, it will be good for me and yes, I am doing it for good reasons.  But still, it is a choice.  Last weekend I joined hundreds of people for a food packing event.  I sat and listened to a young woman talk about feeding children who have no choice.  Without this soy based meal we were going to pack, these children would starve.  I am not at risk of starving anytime soon.  The harshness of this reality brought tears to my eyes.  Choice is a privilege.  I will continue to stay away from soy and dairy but I will view this choice in a new way.  And I hope my story will reflect this new perspective on choice.
